The warmth in the air. The smell of flowers, plants, earth, all those things that make up a summer scent. The rustling leaves. The calmness of the evening - sun is setting, the air gently moves, the blue sky, it's endless.
Breathing slows, shoulders loosen, body calms, slows and relaxes.
Taking the time to savour summer, with all my senses is an important part of my self care. Summer is only three months long where I live, and as of today, we are pretty much at the half way mark. Too many summer days have already slipped by without taking the time to do this. Kids, housework, work - tonight the kids are asleep, the house can wait, while I enjoy this truly remarkable summer evening.
